Solutions Engineering Director (Pre-Sales)
Location: Singapore or Malaysia
Salary: Circa $300k + bonus

Win and shape hyperscale data centre deals. Own the technical solution in pre-sales. Turn client requirements into clear, costed, buildable proposals that align to our global reference design and can be delivered at speed.
What you will do
- Lead the technical win plan on hyperscale pursuits.
- Translate OPR into a compliant, optimised solution and scope.
- Build HLDs, SLDs and mechanical narratives with clear design choices.
- Own TCO models, power and space capacity plans, and growth phasing.
- Drive RFP responses, clarifications, and technical Q&A.
- Align bids to GRD while managing local code and utility constraints.
- Define resilience, protection, and cooling strategies for high density and liquid cooling.
- Specify interconnection, cross-connects, on-ramps, and security requirements.
- Present to client architects, engineers, and executives.
- Guide risk registers, assumptions, exclusions, and value-adds.
- Partner with Product, Design, Construction, and Operations to ensure the sold solution can be built and run.
- Mentor a small team of solution engineers. Raise standards and speed.
Key requirements
- Hyperscale data centre pre-sales experience is a must.
- Deep knowledge of MV/LV power, UPS, generators, switchgear, protection, and SLDs.
- Strong mechanical awareness: CHW plants, CRAH/CRAC, economiser modes, containment, liquid cooling readiness.
- Capacity planning and performance metrics: PUE, WUE, availability, SLA design.
- Solid commercial acumen: TCO, ROI, pricing levers, value engineering.
- RFP leadership: compliance matrices, scope books, BOMs, and bid governance.
- Familiar with GRD, BOD, and localisation with A/E partners.
- Comfortable in client rooms and exec reviews. Clear, concise communicator.
- Able to run multiple pursuits at pace across time zones.

Minimum qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in data centres or mission-critical, including senior pre-sales or solutions leadership.
- Credible track record closing hyperscale or large colo deals.
- Professional registration preferred: PE, CEng, CPEng or equivalent.
Location and travel
Singapore or Malaysia. About 15 percent regional travel.
