Salary - $165,000 + super
Shift role with 4 on, 4 off rotation (once site is operational)
About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Shift lead / engineer to act as the most senior on-shift technical authority within a 24/7 operations team. You’ll play a key role in leading incident response, and maintaining operational excellence across electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll provide technical oversight, guide on-shift teams, and ensure all activities support a 100% uptime.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of critical infrastructure systems
- Monitor plant performance (BMS/EPMS), identifying risks and potential issues
- Act as the primary escalation point for on-shift technicians
- Lead incident response, including diagnostics, stabilisation and reporting
- Support planned maintenance, shutdowns and commissioning activities
- Review risk assessments, switching plans and permit-to-work processes
- Coordinate vendors and ensure safe, compliant execution of works
- Drive continuous improvement across procedures, documentation and operations
- Extensive experience in data centres or other mission-critical environments
- Strong trades background in electrical, mechanical or BMS
- Strong technical knowledge of power and cooling systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, chilled water, etc.)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and stabilise complex systems under pressure
- Experience with BMS/EPMS, CMMS and operational tools
- Strong understanding of risk management, LOTO and safe work practices
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead, mentor and engage stakeholders
- Leadership and supervisory experience of technicians in a 24/7 environment
