The data center sector moves faster than almost any other industry, and the commercial stakes are just as high. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on major fit-out and technical builds across the APAC region.
This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to process invoices. We need a commercial heavyweight who understands the nuances of mission-critical MEP, white space, and connectivity projects. You’ll be the one protecting the margins while ensuring the project delivery teams have what they need to move at pace.
The Reality of the Role
You will own the commercial lifecycle of the project. From the initial bid and subcontract procurement to the final account, you are the gatekeeper of profitability. You’ll need to navigate complex contracts, manage specialist subcontractors, and provide the kind of transparent reporting that gives clients and internal directors total confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Full ownership of project commercials, including CVR reporting, cash flow forecasting, and risk management.
- Handling everything from procurement and monthly valuations to final account settlements with specialist trades.
- Acting as the primary commercial point of contact, managing variations, and ensuring clear communication on all financial matters.
- Working closely with the pre-construction team to ensure our tenders are commercially viable and technically sound.
- Refining commercial procedures to ensure we are operating with maximum efficiency across the region.
- You need a solid track record in high-stakes technical construction—ideally within the data center or heavy MEP sectors.
- 5+ years in a Senior QS or lead commercial role.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. MRICS status is a massive plus, but your delivery history is what matters most.
- The ability to spot risks before they become issues and the negotiation skills to keep projects on track.
