This is your opportunity to lead the mechanical engineering strategy for one of APAC's most ambitious AI infrastructure platforms, designing high-density, liquid-cooled facilities for the world's leading technology companies.
In this role you will work directly with senior leadership, influence critical design decisions, and shape how the next generation of AI data centre infrastructure is built across the region. You will gain rare end-to-end exposure across the entire stack, from utility-scale power and advanced cooling systems through to platform optimisation and high-density GPU workloads. This is a level of technical depth and career influence that is currently unmatched in the APAC mission-critical space.
You will work at the cutting edge of high-density GPU architectures, benefit from strategic partnerships with world-leading chipmakers, and support frontier AI customers whose names will become strong career credentials as these relationships are made public. As the company scales a multi-gigawatt development pipeline across APAC, there will be immediate long-term leadership and team-building opportunities to grow the local mechanical function.
What you will be doing
- Leading the design and documentation of mechanical systems from initial concept through to commissioning and operational handover, with a focus on high-density AI workloads and advanced cooling solutions.
- Carrying out complex engineering calculations and thermal fluid dynamics analysis to deliver high-efficiency, resilient mechanical system designs for modular AI infrastructure.
- Managing the technical qualification, onboarding, and ongoing oversight of third-party consultants and contractors.
- Performing rigorous design reviews of consultant packages and contractor workshop drawings to ensure adherence to world-class technical and client standards.
- Conducting site inspections and leading commissioning activities across CxL1 to CxL5 to ensure mechanical plant performance is fully optimised.
- Driving the development of engineering standards, basis of design documentation, and R&D initiatives to optimise cooling and energy management systems for AI-class workloads.
- Mentoring junior engineers and taking long-term responsibility for hiring and growing the Singapore and Southeast Asia mechanical engineering team.
- Located in, or willing to relocate to, Singapore.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering experience with at least 5 years focused specifically on data centre MEP design, with a strong preference for hyperscale, AI-focused, or owner-developer environments.
- Expert knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and international design standards including ASHRAE TC9.9 and Uptime Institute guidelines.
- Experience with liquid cooling systems is highly valued and will be prioritised. Direct-to-chip, single-phase immersion, CDU, or rear-door heat exchanger design experience is a significant advantage.
- Commissioning experience across CxL1 to CxL5, ideally in a CxA or client-side commissioning lead capacity.
- Proven ability to operate as a highly independent, self-directed senior engineer with minimal oversight.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Flexibility to travel within APAC, estimated at 10 to 30 per cent during active project delivery phases.
This is an emerging leader in AI infrastructure, pioneering solutions to the power and cooling challenges of the GPU era. They have developed specialised liquid-cooled modular infrastructure designed specifically for high-performance AI workloads, with a multi-gigawatt development pipeline and deep strategic ties to world-leading chipmakers. With rapid scaling underway across APAC, this is the right moment to join a high-growth platform and shape the future of AI data centre infrastructure from the ground up.
