Overview
Are you an experienced commissioning professional ready to step up and lead an entire office while staying hands-on with mission-critical projects? MCR are seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager to join our clients' growing team in Melbourne.
In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the Le ad Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre projects , ensuring flawless system integration, reliability, and operational readiness from design through to handover and beyond. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, fire and more), drive commissioning processes, mitigate risks, and deliver high-stakes facilities that power Australia's digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead commissioning agent for major data centre developments
- Oversee end-to-end commissioning of mission-critical systems (power, cooling, controls, redundancy)
- Lead and manage the Melbourne office – this is a true leadership position
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, designers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, quality, and performance
- Hands-on involvement in testing, issue resolution, and system verification
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning professional on data centres (highly preferred) or other mission-critical facilities (e.g., hospitals, pharma, critical infrastructure)
- Strong multidisciplinary knowledge – electrical or mechanical background both welcome, but must be comfortable leading across both
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams/offices and manage complex, high-value projects
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant qualifications in engineering or related fields
