Regional Electrical Design SME
Location: Singapore
Salary: circa $170-215k SGD + bonus
Why this role exists
Own the APAC electrical design standard for a major hyperscale program. Translate client requirements into global reference design. Make sure what is designed gets built, tested, and performs.
What you will do
- Act as regional design authority for electrical.
- Translate OPR into GRD intent and localise with A/E partners.
- Lead design reviews from concept to IFC and into Cx.
- Advise Product, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Sales on risk vs opportunity.
- Optimise power systems for resilience, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Guide readiness for high-density loads and liquid-cooling power interfaces.
- Prepare concise technical reports and present recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support workload and prioritisation across the Global Design Standards team.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers.
- Operate as an IC while partnering daily with global counterparts.
Key technical requirements
- Deep electrical power systems expertise for data centres or mission-critical MEP.
- Strong MV and LV architectures: generators, substations, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, RPPs, grounding and earthing.
- Proven studies and protection: load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay and protective device coordination, harmonic analysis.
- Tooling familiarity: ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or EasyPower.
- Authority on single line development, protection settings, transfer schemes, and generator paralleling.
- Proven design governance: OPR, BOD, GRD, peer reviews, close-out of comments.
- Cx understanding: IST test scripts, performance verification, design intent to site results.
- Comfortable working across time zones and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Acknowledged subject matter expert in a relevant DC electrical design or specification area.

Minimum qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical.
- Professional membership preferred: CEng, PE, CPEng or equivalent.
- 5+ years in data centres or mission-critical M&E led industries.
- Multidisciplinary design experience, ideally in a lead role.
- Background with consultants, client engineer, site engineer, or contractor engineer.
- Hyperscale exposure is a plus.
Location and travel
Singapore or Malaysia. About 15% regional travel. Remote collaboration with global teams.
