Lead Mechanical Engineer | Data Centre projects
Location: Sydney
Salary: $220,000 - $240,000 + super and up to 50% bonus potential
Overview
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in leading Mechanical system design and integration for data centres, or similarly complex, mission critical buildings?
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee mechanical engineering across the full project lifecycle, from initial site assessments and equipment cost planning through to design development, construction support and project completion.
- Develop and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, including technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Support tender documentation, construction design, value engineering and client approval processes.
- Review and coordinate consultant design packages to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project schedules.
- Provide on-site engineering support during commissioning, final inspections and as-built documentation reviews.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years in mechanical data centre (or mission critical) design
- Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit)
- Knowledge of BMS
- Familiarity with ASHRAE and local building codes
- Strong problem-solving, project management and communication skills
