Mechanical Engineering Lead

Salary: $160k - $180K + super, bonus and benefits
MCR are seeking a highly experienced HVAC/Mechanical Engineer to act as mechanical subject matter expert for data centre facility operations. Working directly for an owner / operator of large scale data centre sites, you will be a key part of a team tasked with developing operational excellence across the portfolio.
In this newly created role, the Mechanical Engineering Lead will be a part of the leadership team on site, overseeing maintenance programs, assisting with the implementation of procedures and policies as the data centre portfolio grows quickly.
We are seeking an experienced engineer or tradesperson with in depth HVAC and critical environment knowledge along with the ability to lead, develop and mentor others.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the site based teams, contractors and vendors
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for all HVAC related equipment
- Management of on site vendors and contractors including all deliverables
- Ensuring continued uptime and maintaining site resilience
- Developing SOPs and MOPs and ensuring that they are up to date and adhered to
- Over 5 years' supervisory / management experience in data centre, or other mission critical operations management
- Experience in leading maintenance teams
- Experience in managing preventative maintenance programs
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment - Chillers, CRAC units, Cooling towers and BMS
- Understanding of Liquid Cooling desirable
- Strong communicator with ability to manage both internal and external customers
- Relevant degree / qualifications of equivalent work experience / trade or licences
