For a senior data centre operations leader based in or relocating to Singapore, this is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of risk governance across one of the fastest-growing hyperscale platforms in the Asia-Pacific region.
Most director-level operations roles at this level sit inside large corporates with rigid structures and limited mandate. This one is different. You'll be building the change and incident management framework from the ground up, across a live and growing portfolio of hyperscale assets. The customers you'll engage with are the world's largest cloud and AI operators. The impact is immediate and visible.
You'll lead a regional team of engineering SMEs, own escalation on major incidents, and drive RCA governance across the portfolio. Critically, you'll also have a seat at the table during new-build design and delivery ensuring every new facility is operationally fit-for-purpose before it goes live, not after. That kind of cross-functional influence is rare at operator level, and it means your fingerprints are on the platform from land to live operations.
The commercial exposure here is equally distinctive. You'll engage directly with hyperscale and neocloud customers on technical due diligence, site audits, and inspections throughout the asset lifecycle building relationships and credibility at the highest level of the industry. Alongside a competitive director-level package, there's long-term incentive and equity participation on the table, giving you a genuine stake in the platform you're helping to build.
What you'll do
To lead technical operations, risk governance, and incident management across a growing hyperscale data centre portfolio in APAC providing the operational backbone for a platform serving the world's largest cloud and AI customers, from routine maintenance through to full asset lifecycle planning.
You'll own and govern the Change and Incident Management framework across the portfolio, acting as the primary escalation point for major events and leading root cause analysis investigations across all sites.
You'll provide the operational voice during design and delivery phases for new capacity projects, working closely with Development and Design teams to ensure new builds are operationally sound from day one.
You'll engage directly with hyperscale and neocloud customers on technical due diligence, site audits, and inspections representing the business at the highest level of customer scrutiny throughout the asset lifecycle.
You'll lead and develop a regional team of engineering subject matter experts, overseeing operational support across the full portfolio from routine maintenance through to lifecycle planning.
You'll drive energy efficiency initiatives, monitor operational KPIs, and leverage site telemetry data to proactively identify risk and opportunity without compromising reliability. You'll also ensure full adherence to SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and all relevant external regulations and infrastructure standards.
What you'll need
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum 8 years of operations leadership in mission-critical or hyperscale data centre environments
- Demonstrated track record in change management, incident management, and RCA governance at portfolio scale
- Experience providing operational input during the design and delivery phases of new data centre capacity
- Credibility to engage with hyperscale customers on technical due diligence and site audits
- Strong cross-functional leadership across Operations, Design, Development, and Commercial teams
- Proactive and process-driven - able to hold the strategic view while staying close to operational detail
