Commissioning Manager

Our client, a global engineering business with a dedicated critical facilities commissioning team, needs an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead contractor-side commissioning on a 200MW+ data centre in Johor for a large global data centre provider.
This is a fast-paced build and the role is broad. You will own commissioning from L1 to L5 and integrated systems testing, manage the commissioning engineers and leads on site, and be the person the General Contractor, the end client and the supply chain rely on to get the facility handed over to the client's global standards. It suits an all-rounder with real depth in both power and cooling, rather than a single-discipline specialist.
What you'll be doing
- Building the commissioning strategy, plan and programme from the contract documents and Employer's Requirements
- Running commission-ability reviews and flagging scope and design issues early to the design and project teams
- Witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests and developing SAT and IST scripts, method statements and risk assessments
- Managing day-to-day commissioning on site, including the commissioning team, subcontractors and supply chain
- Reporting to and engaging directly with the client and contractors, and presenting strategy to senior stakeholders
- Leading lessons learnt and feeding improvements back into company commissioning standards
What you'll bring
- 10+ years in data centre infrastructure across power and cooling
- Experience leading commissioning from L1 to L5 and IST on large-scale data centre builds, ideally on the contractor or commissioning agent side
- Experience leading a team of commissioning engineers and leads
- A mechanical or electrical engineering degree, or similar
- Working knowledge of BSRIA, ASHRAE and CIBSE methods. Uptime Tiers and TIA-942 knowledge is useful but not essential
- Based in Malaysia or Singapore, or already in the region and open to Johor, with a willingness to travel regionally
